AXA Achievement Scholarship

The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $670,000 of scholarship money per year. It awards fifty two scholarships a year. There is a winner from each state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Each of these fifty two winners recieves a $10,000 scholarship. From this pool of fifty two, ten winners are selected to receive an additional $15,000. Each year, the program is closed to applicants once a certain number is reached (12,000 for the 2012 program), so make sure you sign up to receive information about next year’s program if you are interested.

Applicants to The AXA Achievement Scholarship must describe in detail an achievement that they have made. It must be non academic. This achievement can be a long-term achievement, activity or project. Primary consideration is given to those who have achieved in a non-academic area. Consideration is also given to other aspects of the applicant’s life, such as extra curricular activities, work experience, and academic record. The deadline each year is around mid-December, and winners are notified around March of the following year. Almost anyone is eligible, save for those who are related to those who work for the AXA Group, US News & World Report, Scholarship America or any affiliates of those companies. The scholarship is paid twice in the winner’s freshman year, unless a longer payment schedule is requested.
