Ford Scholarships

The Ford Family Foundation, located in Oregon, has numerous scholarship programs available. It began in 1957, as a way for Kenneth Ford to give back to the community that had helped to build his fortune. Though most Ford Scholarships are only available to those who reside in Oregon, some of the scholarships have less stringent eligibility requirements. Students who already have bachelors degrees are not eligible for any of the programs.

The Ford Scholars Program is a program open to graduating high school seniors and community college students who are ready to move to a four year education. This program is open to both Oregon residents and Siskiyou County, California residents. This is a need based scholarship, and the criteria is different depending on the region of application. A 3.0 GPA or 2650 GED score is required, though if you do not meet these requirements, a special recommendation may be submitted by a teacher or guidance counselor.

Ford Scholarships Give Back To Oregon and Siskiyou County Residents Ford Scholarships

The Ford Opportunity Program is for single parents, and is open to both Oregon residents and Siskiyou County, California residents. Up to 55 students are selected for this scholarship each year. This scholarship is supposed to cover roughly 90% of college costs per year, with a maximum of $25,000 of coverage.

The Ford ReStart Program is for non-traditional adult students who are either beginning or returning to post-secondary education. This program is offered in Oregon and Siskiyou County, California. Up to 50 students are selected for this scholarship each year. You must be 25 years or older to qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship is also supposed to cover roughly 90% of costs.

The Scholarship Program for Sons and Daughters of Employees of Roseburg Forest Products Co. is open to dependents-those who are under 21-of employees of Roseburg Forest Co. This scholarship is offered in  Oregon, Siskiyou County, California, as well as other regions. The scholarship amount varies depending on the college education being pursued. Up to 10% of eligible dependents are selected for one of these Ford Scholarships a year.

Ford Scholarships are a wonderful opportunity for those who reside in Oregon or Siskiyou County, California. They provide an ample amount of aid for those who qualify.
